Ines Chaves has significant experience in academia and research, currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Senior Scientist at Erasmus MC since October 1999, where previously held the position of Post-doc. Prior to this, Ines Chaves completed a Graduate student role at The Netherlands Cancer Institute from November 1995 to October 1999. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science equivalent in Biochemistry from Universidade do Porto, obtained between 1990 and 1994, and further studies at IGC - Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência from 1994 to 1995.
