Chris Cowan has extensive experience in human resources and organizational development. Chris began their career as a Senior Employee Relations Consultant at CIBC in 1990 and later held positions at Canadian Tire and Husky Injection Molding Systems. Chris then served as the Assistant VP of Human Resources at Manulife Financial and later became the General Manager at KI, where they were responsible for the operational aspects of a manufacturing plant. Cowan went on to work at Stork as the Director of Process Management and at Lafarge Canada as the Director of Human Resources. Chris then joined Lafarge Cement, a.s. as the VP of Human Resources for the North America Cement Division. Chris continued their work in human resources at LafargeHolcim, where they served as Vice President of Organization and Human Resources for Canada. Most recently, Cowan has been working at ERCO Worldwide as the VP of Human Resources and Privacy Officer.
Chris Cowan has a diverse education history. In 1985, they began attending Carleton University and completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 1989. Following this, from 1991 to 1992, they pursued a Certificate in Human Resources Management at St. Lawrence College. Later, they attended the University of Leicester from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Training and Human Resources Management.
