Prashant Kansal

Prashant Kansal, PE, SMIEEE, currently serves as Principal of Grid Transformation at ERCOT since September 2024. Prior to this role, Prashant was a Senior Staff Power Systems Engineer at Tesla from May 2018 to September 2024, leading the global Power Systems and Utility Interconnection Team. Prashant's experience also includes positions such as Senior Engineer at American Electric Power, where responsibilities involved advanced transmission studies, and various engineering roles at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, focusing on protection algorithms and power system studies. Prashant holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. Additional studies were pursued in Public Policy and Management at The Ohio State University.
