Walter Herren

Walter Herren currently serves as an Operations Training Specialist, Sr at ERCOT since January 2024, following a role in Systems Operations at Gridforce Energy Management from January 2023 to February 2024. Herren has extensive experience in the electricity transmission sector, previously holding positions such as Senior Transmission System Operator at LS Power and Electric Grid Controller Senior at Oncor Electric Delivery, where responsibilities included ensuring system reliability and managing outages. Prior to the energy industry, Herren served in the US Navy for 16 years, holding various roles such as Assistant Quality Assurance Officer and Nuclear Quality Assurance Supervisor, overseeing the safety and operation of nuclear propulsion systems. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Financial Management Services at the University of Houston, Herren also completed the Incremental Systems power4vets program and attended Navy nuclear power school.
