Ergo Contracts Philippines, Inc. (ECPI)
ERGO CONTRACTS PHILIPPINES, INC. (ECPI) is the licensed manufacturer of Ergo products. The brand “Ergo” was established in 1985, making it the pioneer in the manufacturing of ergonomically chairs in the Philippines. ECPI is part of the Ergo Group of Companies that has manufacturing and distribution networks in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Shanghai, Hongkong, Australia and USA. In 1985, it was the introduction of the first quiet fitting, smooth swivel ergonomically designed chair in the Philippines through Amtraco, Inc., with first commercial importation of 100 chairs aimed to market the chief executives of the top 500 corporations in the country. With remarkable success, Ergo was patronized and became a by-word among corporations and industries as the premium chair company. As import duties stood at 60% for furniture importation in 1980s, the company saw the opportunity to pursue local manufacturing. The Ergo Evolution Product sourcing, research and development, and licensing agreements played significant roles in the growth of Ergo. Its product lines expanded from chairs to system (open plan) furnitures, executive and managerial desking, demountable system walls, lateral filing cabinets, movable storage systems (compactors & sidepull cabinet), toilet cubicles, laminated doors, raised flooring, fabrics, carpets and display system.
