Meng Michael Babin Csp

Michael Babin, MEng, CSP has a diverse work experience in the field of health and safety. Michael has worked as a Health and Safety Director at Ergon Inc. since May 2023. Previously, they served as a Safety Supervisor at Marathon Petroleum Corporation from November 2016 to May 2023. Michael also worked as a Safety Coordinator at GHD for the year 2016. Prior to that, they held the position of Safety Specialist at Turner Industries from March 2012 to December 2015, where they conducted safety meetings, training, audits, incident investigations, and implemented corrective actions. Michael began their career as a Paramedic at Acadian Ambulance from March 2005 to March 2012.

Michael Babin, MEng, CSP has an extensive education history with a focus on safety engineering and management. In 2001, they attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Avionics Maintenance Technology/Technician. From 2003 to 2005, they studied at South Louisiana Community College and obtained a Certificate in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic).

In 2014 and 2015, Babin attended Columbia Southern University, earning both an Associate of Science (A.S.) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Occupational Safety and Health. Michael furthered their education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2018 to 2020, receiving a Master of Engineering (MEng) with a specialization in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management.

Additionally, Babin has obtained various certifications. Michael achieved the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in March 2015. Babin also holds the titles of Certified Occupational Safety Specialist from the Alliance Safety Council, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) from the same board. Finally, Babin is a registered Paramedic with the National registry of EMT's.
