Matthew Rink

Matthew Rink is an experienced reporter with a comprehensive background in political and governmental coverage. Currently serving as a reporter at Erie Times-News since July 2017, Matthew focuses on politics, Erie County government, and non-profit organizations. Previously, Matthew held various roles at GateHouse Media/The Canton Repository from January 2013 to July 2017, including editorial page editor overseeing the Opinion section and government reporter covering local government issues. Matthew also worked as a government and business reporter at GateHouse Media/The Independent from April 2004 to December 2012, addressing matters in Stark County and Massillon. Matthew's journalism career began as an intern at Erie Times-News in 2003, following an educational background in English and communications from Gannon University.
