Mike Anderson has over 30 years of professional work experience. In 1988, they began their career as an Engineering Intern at Explosive Technology. Mike then worked as a Flight Test Performance Engineer at the USAF Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB from 1990 to 1993. In 1993, they became a Research Engineer at UC Davis, where they designed and performed numerous experimental studies in the thermo-fluids/heat transfer field. In 1999, they joined GE Energy as a Senior Application Engineer/Engineering Manager, where they developed many novel software/modeling solutions to monitor and identify power plant equipment changes. From 2005 to 2008, they were a Senior Performance Engineer/Engineering Manager at Calpine, where they managed a team of 8 Engineers and developed an innovative equipment failure detection system. From 2008 to 2010, they were a consultant at PI work. Mike then joined SunPower Corporation as a Principal Performance Engineer/Engineering Manager from 2010 to 2018. Since 2018, they have been a Senior Performance Engineer at SMA America. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Director of Performance & Analytics at Erthos, Inc.
Mike Anderson received their B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University between 1987 and 1990. Mike then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering - Thermo-Fluids & Heat Transfer from the University of California, Davis, which they completed in 1999.
