Obehioye Adubor has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Obehioye started their career as a Diversity Engineering Collegiate Conference attendee at Qualcomm in 2017. Obehioye then interned at Tesla, where they developed hardware and software for the Model 3 Display Measurement System and tested the reliability of critical Tesla autopilot hardware components.
In 2018, Obehioye interned at X, the moonshot factory, working on The Everyday Robot Project. Their responsibilities included developing test scripts, assembling and testing robots, and providing hardware validation support.
Obehioye continued to gain experience in the robotics field by interning at Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute in 2016 and 2019. There, they contributed to research projects, designed human-robot interaction scenarios, and integrated surveys for data collection.
In 2019, Obehioye interned at Apple in the Special Projects Group, where they led the mechanical design of a next-generation multi-sensor suite PCB platform. Obehioye also reverse-engineered and manufactured mechanical systems and designed mounting solutions.
During their internship at Amazon Robotics in 2020, they designed multiple degrees of freedom automated robotic system prototypes, performed kinematic analysis, and served as a point of contact for hardware development efforts.
From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Robotics Research Intern at Astrobotic. Their responsibilities included testing localization methods and investigating novel methods for real-time localization. Obehioye also led the mechanical enclosure design for a hardware payload mounted on a multi-rotor drone.
Their most recent work experience was at Argo AI, where they served as a Mechanical Design & Integration Engineer. Obehioye optimized and integrated a camera and lidar sensor module onto fleet vehicles, led a crash simulation project for improved safety, and collaborated with analysts to enhance air and fluid cleaning system designs for obstacle detection sensors.
In 2023, Obehioye will join Erthos as a Mechanical Engineer III.
Obehioye Adubor completed high school at Iona Preparatory High School from 2011 to 2015. They then attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2015 to 2019, earning a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Robotics. Obehioye Adubor continued their education at Carnegie Mellon University from 2019 to 2021, completing two Master's of Science degrees. The first Master's degree was in Mechanical Engineering, and the second was in Engineering & Technology Innovation Management.
