Ketty Lie began their education at Sekolah Pelita Harapan Karawaci, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate (IB) from 1994 to 2006. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of Chicago in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics in 2010.

Ketty then proceeded to pursue a joint-degree in MPP (Master in Public Policy) and MBA (Master of Business Administration) at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School from 2016 to 2019.
