Hongji Ren

Hongji Ren currently serves as Principal Scientist at esBiolab since August 2023. Prior to this role, Hongji Ren was a Senior Staff Scientist at Illumina Inc. from February 2002 to July 2023, where responsibilities included designing and optimizing new sequencing instruments and utilizing self-developed simulation models for system analysis, particularly for innovative systems like the NextSeq 1k/2k. Earlier experience includes a position as Senior Scientist at Molecular Dynamics Inc. from 1999 to 2002, focusing on capillary electrophoresis and microfabrication. Hongji Ren holds a PhD from the University of Alberta and both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Chemistry from Nankai University.
