John Nuss is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Ventyx Biosciences since January 2018. Prior to this role, John served as CSO at Escalier Biopharm B.V. and OPPILAN PHARMA LIMITED from January 2017 to September 2021. With extensive experience in drug discovery and chemistry, John has held titles such as VP of Drug Discovery at Ferring Research Institute, Senior Vice President at Exelixis, Inc., and Director at Chiron. John Nuss has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has also worked as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of California, Riverside.

Escalier Biosciences is developing both topical and oral RORγt inverse agonists for the treatment of a broad spectrum of psoriasis patients – from the underserved mild-to-moderate patients that would benefit from a safe and effective topical RORγt therapeutic to the more moderate-to-severe patients that would benefit from a safe and effective oral RORγt drug in lieu of injectable biologic therapies targeting IL-17 and IL-23.
