Ningjiao Zhang is a Patent Attorney admitted to practice in Ohio and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Ningjiao has been working full-time in Eschweiler & Potashnik since 2013. She has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in semiconductor devices/fabrication, wireless communication (including LTE/5G standard-essential patents, SEPs), vehicle sensing and control, circuits, etc. Ningjiao has worldwide filing and prosecution experience and regularly advises patent portfolio strategies. Supported by foreign counsels, Ningjiao manages cellular international portfolios for a renowned cellphone manufacturer, including applications through PCT and regional proceedings in Europe, China, Korea, as well as other jurisdictions. She also analyzes competitors’ applications and patents and provides freedom-to-operate opinions and invalidation strategies for clients.

Ningjiao received her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Capital University Law School, where she was a Law Review member. Ningjiao also performed an externship for Justice Patrick DeWine at the Supreme Court of Ohio. Prior to her patent law career, Ningjiao earned her M.S. degree from The Ohio State University’s electrical and computer engineering (ECE) department with a specialization in solid-state devices. During her two years on the OSU campus, she accomplished both a research-based thesis path and a course-based project path with top 10% grades. Her graduate research focused on the characterization of high power high frequency III-V semiconductor devices and included physical simulation and computer modeling of these devices. Ningjiao received her B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tianjin University, China, with a specialization in optoelectronics. Ningjiao is fluent in Chinese and English.
