JoAnne Duncan has extensive work experience in the field of education. JoAnne started their career as an Elementary School Teacher and taught various grade levels. Throughout their teaching tenure, they prioritized creating a caring and compassionate learning environment for their students. Later, they transitioned into a role as an Early Learning Coordinator/Instructional Coach, where they focused on aligning instructional strategies and promoting social-emotional learning.

JoAnne's passion for education led their to take on leadership positions within the Ellensburg School District. JoAnne served as an Assistant Principal in two elementary schools, collaborating with building principals and engaging with stakeholders. JoAnne'sresponsibilities included providing instructional support to teachers, evaluating their performance, and maintaining a safe and supportive school environment. JoAnne also served as a Building Design Principal, leading the redesign and remodel of Lincoln Elementary School and the construction of a new elementary school, Ida Nason Aronica. In their role as the founding principal of Ida Nason Aronica, JoAnne worked closely with multiple stakeholders to establish an innovative school focused on the holistic development of students.
