Derek Thomas

Derek Thomas is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat response and information security. Currently serving as the Senior Director of the Threat Response Unit at eSentire since October 2014, Derek has developed and managed a comprehensive detection engineering and threat hunting team. Previous roles at eSentire include Director and Manager of Tactical Threat Response, where responsibilities encompassed defining processes for detection library management and contributing to threat modeling and security analytics. Prior to eSentire, Derek was an Information Security Consultant at VioPoint Inc., specializing in SIEM and vulnerability management. Derek began a career in the gaming industry as a Card Dealer at MotorCity Casino, where adherence to strict procedures was essential. Derek holds a Bachelor's degree in Network Security from the University of Advancing Technology.
