Lead Application Engineer, Weld at ESI Group

Ramon Silva, MSc has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Ramon started their career as a Product Designer at ARTEB in 2008 and then worked as a Consultant Designer at Fiamm Latin America from 2011 to 2012, where they were responsible for developing mounting brackets for horns and optimizing the communication process with the Italian headquarters. Ramon then joined Semcon as a Senior Designer in 2012, where they worked within Scania in the Truck Chassis department, resolving field problems and conducting virtual validation using CATIA V5 and ABAQUS CAE. In 2013, Ramon joined General Motors as a CAE Analysis Engineer, specializing in Crash and Safety. Ramon worked at GM until 2018.

In 2018, they joined ESI Group as an Application Engineer, where they performed consulting projects and conducted training using ESI's proprietary SYSWELD software products. Ramon also provided technical support to customers and contributed to business development activities. From 2020 to 2022, Ramon served as a CAE Technical Leader at ESI Group, responsible for technical support, training, and project development. Ramon also worked as a technical lead for the engineering team of ESI SA. Currently, Ramon holds the position of Lead Application Engineer at ESI Group, specializing in welding applications.

Ramon Silva, MSc has a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Carbon Fiber Prosthesis, which they obtained from the Universidade Federal do ABC in the years 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at FEI from 2007 to 2013. In addition, Ramon has also received certifications in Basics of Art, Animation and Games from Escola SAGA and Python Pro from Let's Code in the years 2021 and 2020 respectively.
