Jim Cannaliato

Director of Science and Technology at ESi

Jim Cannaliato has over 30 years of work experience in the technology and engineering industry. Jim is currently serving as the Director of Science and Technology at Engineering Solutions, Inc. (ESI), where they are responsible for establishing the technical vision and overseeing research and development activities. Jim works with the management team to identify and lead technology initiatives and programs to drive growth. In addition, they propose and develops innovative ideas to solve challenging problems for ESI's customers.

Prior to their current role, Jim worked at Leidos as a Technical Fellow. Jim led the development of DigitalEdge, a cloud-based big data ingestion product, starting as an internal project before productizing it. At SAIC, Jim served as the RT-RG Chief Software Architect, where they led the development and enhancement of RT-RG, an intelligence system that significantly impacted global counter-terrorism efforts. Jim also led teams on various projects as a Lead Software Engineer, including the development of a large-scale web-based system for network session data analysis.

Earlier in their career, Jim held positions at Logicon, HRB Systems, GTE Government Systems, and Rexnord Automation as a Principal Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Member of Technical Staff, and Software Engineer, respectively. Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated strong technical leadership skills and the ability to successfully lead and scale agile processes.

Jim Cannaliato attended Loyola University Maryland from 1980 to 1984, but the degree and field of study are not specified. Jim later obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State University. Additionally, Jim has pursued certifications as an AWS Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services and as a SCRUM Master from Scrum Alliance.
