ESM - European Stability Mechanism
Alexandra Cojocaru is a Corporate Governance Officer and former Legal Officer at the European Stability Mechanism since May 2016. Prior experience includes a Legal Trainee position at the European Space Agency, providing legal advice and conducting case law research, and a Legal Affairs Intern role at the FAO, where contributions included drafting agreements and assisting with legal opinions. Alexandra held leadership and communication roles in various organizations, including serving as President of AESAI and managing communication for the Association Tous pour l'Europe. Educational qualifications encompass a Master’s degree in International Administration and International Law from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, a law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and certification from the Institut d'études politiques de Rennes. Alexandra is also an Avocat au Barreau de Madrid.

ESM - European Stability Mechanism
The ESM is the crisis resolution mechanism for euro area countries. The ESM issues debt instruments in order to finance loans and other forms of financial assistance to euro area Member States. The decision leading to the creation of the ESM was taken by the European Council in December 2010. The euro area Member States signed an intergovernmental treaty establishing the ESM on 2 February 2012. The ESM was inaugurated on 8 October 2012 and is based in Luxembourg.
