Kapil Agrawal

Kapil Agrawal is a security engineer at ESnet. Kapil has previous experience working as a network engineer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and GlobalNOC. At NCSA, they were responsible for the design and deployment of the high-performance supercomputing data center network. Kapil also worked on identifying various aspects of network operations and automating them with various automation tools such as Ansible. Kapil also worked on developing and maintaining internal software(s) and tools essential for network operations. Kapil collaborated with the NCSA security team to incorporate and implement security policies into the network design. Kapil also supported Linux and FreeBSD servers for production services like DNS, DHCP, IPAM etc. critical to NCSA’s network infrastructure. At GlobalNOC, they supported multiple regional service providers with 100Gig backbone R&E networks in a 24x7x365 network operations center. Kapil also conducted performance tests, troubleshot network problems and outages, scheduled upgrades and maintenances in a full hands on NetOps environment. Kapil collaborated with senior network engineers/network architects on capacity planning, network upgrades etc. Kapil also planned, reviewed and implemented configuration changes in a multi-vendor network environment.

Kapil Agrawal is a computer science engineer who has a bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Technology Raipur. Kapil also has various certifications from the IPv6 Forum, Juniper Networks, and ipSpace. Kapil is currently working on building network automation solutions.
