Gary Douglas has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and technical architecture.

Gary started their career at NiSoft in 2010 as a Software Engineer, where they worked on developing new functionality for the eclipse3 product using C#.net, WPF, WCF, and SQL. Gary also maintained and extended the eclipse2 product using Delphi and SQL, and created new eclipse2 systems for clients. Gary'sresponsibilities included creating forms, process lifecycles, and document templates.

In 2013, Gary joined Etain Ltd as a Software Developer. Here, they worked on various projects for clients, including Contact NI, Hibernia Evros, and Livestock & Meat Commission. Gary'swork involved configuring and customizing Microsoft Dynamics CRM, developing custom workflow activities, plugins, and form customization using C#, Javascript, and HTML. Gary also gained valuable client-facing experience by gathering requirements and fixing bugs for clients.

Gary was promoted to the role of Technical Architect at Etain Ltd in 2015. Gary designed a framework to execute Dynamics CRM code outside of the CRM environment, enabling CRM developers to create automated unit tests. Gary was also responsible for designing the technical architecture of a CRM system for NI Chamber of Commerce, integrating it with their Sage system for managing payments and invoices. Additionally, they designed visual form layouts and test cases for unit testing.

In 2016, Gary joined Kainos as a Senior Software Engineer. Gary worked on the Application Processing project for HM Land Registry, implementing features, and mentoring junior developers. Gary provided technical leadership to the development team, ensured technical standards were met, and released high-quality code to production environments. Gary also collaborated with other tech leads to identify and mitigate potential dependencies between teams.

In 2019, Gary was appointed as the Acting Technical Architect at Kainos. Gary continued to provide technical leadership to the team and ensure the project's technical standards were met.

Most recently, in 2023, Gary joined ESO as a Senior Software Engineer.

Gary Douglas attended Queen's University Belfast from 2005 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Science.
