Dwight Wilkins

Dwight Wilkins is an experienced educator and filmmaker with a diverse background in drama and film. Since August 2014, Dwight has been teaching Drama and, more recently, Film at Esperanza Academy Charter High School. Additionally, Dwight has been a freelance Writer, Director, and Producer since August 2007, with notable work including the independent feature film, Roman, released in 2020. Dwight has also served as a Media Instructor and Director of Education and Programs at Big Picture Alliance, where instruction focuses on filmmaking and creative expression for students. Previous roles include Education Director at InterAct Theatre Company, where workshops addressed critical social issues, and dramaturg at Freedom Theatre. Dwight holds an MFA in Playwriting and Film Production from Ohio University and a BA in Film Studies from Brooklyn College.
