Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project
Marcos Britsch is a legal intern at Riverside Public Defender since May 2022, where responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting motions, and interacting with clients. Additionally, Marcos serves as a volunteer translator for the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, translating documents from Spanish to English. Prior experience includes a policy research internship with the Office of the Connecticut Secretary of the State, where Marcos conducted election policy research and assisted with constituent issues. As team captain of the Yale Moot Court Brief-Writing Team, Marcos researched and wrote legal briefs on constitutional issues. Previous roles include a legal intern at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office and a research volunteer for San Diego Green New Deal, focusing on affordable housing and urban sprawl. Marcos also interned on Terra Lawson-Remer's political campaign, where activities included phone banking, canvassing, and campaign material editing. Education includes a degree in Political Science and Religious Studies from Yale University, anticipated in May 2024.

Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project
Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., is a non-profit law firm which provides community education and legal representation to Southern California’s most vulnerable immigrant communities. Esperanza provides legal representation to immigrants who are in detention and/or removal proceedings, and focuses on particularly complex immigration cases which may involve unaccompanied minors, adults with mental health issues, and cases with past criminal or gang history. Esperanza also provides community education programming and pro se assistance to immigrants in removal proceedings both in detained and non-detained settings. Esperanza has proudly provided legal services to immigrants and their families in Los Angeles for over 15 years.
