Lillie Macias has a diverse work experience in research and academia. Lillie is currently serving as the Director of Research and Evaluation at Esperanza United since 2020. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Professor at the University of New Haven starting from 2017. From 2015 to 2017, Lillie was a Psychology Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine, providing recovery-oriented care to individuals with severe mental illness. Before that, they worked as a Graduate Research and Evaluation Assistant at The National Latino Network for Healthy Families and Communities from 2009 to 2015, focused on manualized leadership training curriculum and engaging Latino men who use violence. Lillie's earlier role includes serving as a Research Associate III at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio from 2007 to 2010.

Lillie Macias pursued their education with dedication and enthusiasm, as evidenced by their completed degrees and field of study. From 2002 to 2006, they attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Lillie'sacademic focus included psychology and women's studies. Moving forward, Lillie Macias continued their educational journey at Georgia State University, from 2009 to 2013. During this time, they obtained a Ph.D. in Dual Clinical & Community, further refining their expertise in this area.
