Ed Mitchell

Ed Mitchell serves as the Head of Business Development at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) since 1996, leading initiatives to connect industry with advanced X-ray facilities for materials characterization and technology transfer. Notable contributions include managing the ESRF Upgrade Programme, coordinating the Partnership for Structural Biology, and overseeing multiple beamline operations. Additionally, Ed Mitchell holds honorary positions as a Professor and Reader at Keele University and the EPSAM Research Institute, collaborating on protein structures related to HIV and Malaria. Ed Mitchell completed a DPhil in Molecular Biophysics and a BA (Hons) in Chemistry at the University of Oxford.
