Stephen Canter is an experienced professional in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and town planning. Holding the position of Western Region Manager at Esri South Africa since April 2011, Stephen oversees software sales, professional services, and project management across several provinces. Previously, as Corporate GIS Manager for Nelson Mandela Bay Metro from 2005 to 2011, Stephen established a Corporate GIS unit and implemented an enterprise-wide solution. Stephen's career also includes roles as Town Planner at Urban Dynamics Eastern Cape, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and Thames Water Property, along with early experience as a Town Planning Technician in various organizations. Stephen possesses a BSc Honours in GIS (Cum Laude) from Nelson Mandela University and a National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning from Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
