Darren Smith

Darren Smith is a specialist Geographic Information System (GIS) developer with extensive experience in GIS software development, primarily using Python, C#, FME, and SQL. Currently employed at Esri Sverige since January 2017, Darren has contributed to significant projects, including a long-term collaboration with Telia to develop tools for telecoms data migration to GIS. Previous roles include GIS Specialist Contractor at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, where Darren worked remotely on the Australian Geofabric Project, and Geospatial Database Developer, serving as a technical lead on the Hydrological Geospatial Fabric project. Additional experience encompasses spatial application development at Earth Tech Engineering Pty Ltd, software testing at Insignia Solutions, and web development and technical writing in various capacities. Darren holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering & Sustainable Infrastructure from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computing from the University of East Anglia.
