Meirman Syzdykbayev

Meirman Syzdykbayev is currently a Product Engineer II at Esri, specializing in R&D software products since May 2023. Prior to this role, Meirman worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information from August 2017 to May 2023, contributing to projects such as "The Inclusive Mobility Research Lab" and "Postpartum Mothers Mobile Study," funded by the NIH. As a Teaching Assistant, Meirman supported courses in Algorithm Design, Machine Learning, Spatial Data Analytics, and Geospatial Information Systems. Additional experience includes an internship at the GIS Division of Pittsburgh City Planning, where Meirman developed Python tools for spatial data management and created GIS web applications. Meirman Syzdykbayev holds a Ph.D. in Information Science and a Master’s Degree in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
