ESSA Foundation is a nonprofit infrastructure hub built to help people and organizations turn ideas into real community impact. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit incorporated in Washington State, designed to remove the financial, legal, administrative, and operational barriers that often stop strong community ideas from becoming real initiatives.
Rather than operating as a single-program charity, ESSA is built as an integrated nonprofit ecosystem that brings several forms of support together in one place: fiscal sponsorship for independent projects, volunteer coordination, project grants and stipends, civic service events, and professional-level STEM education in areas like full-stack engineering and cybersecurity.
We are designed to work on both sides of community impact. We aim to support outside initiatives by giving project leaders the structure, funding pathways, and nonprofit infrastructure they need to launch and operate; and we plan to run our own programs, including STEM workshops, summer and online classes, community events, and civic service projects such as road cleanups. We also work to connect organizations that need volunteers with people seeking meaningful service opportunities and verified hours.

Our fiscal sponsorship model is built around a low four percent administrative fee, so more funding can stay directed toward the projects and communities being served.

The barrier was never talent. It was infrastructure; so we built it.
