Admission to selective colleges is significantly more competitive than it was just two decades ago, and essays have become one of the most important differentiators in a student’s application.

Founded by a former professor of education, EssayU™ is a PhD-led college essay and admissions coaching firm that supports families of college-bound high school students through a structured, research-informed approach to the admissions process.

As the admissions landscape has grown more complex, families are often left navigating high-stakes decisions without a clear strategy. EssayU was created to provide a thoughtful and evidence-based path forward.

EssayU integrates college admissions strategy with expert writing mentorship, supporting students from school list development and intended major positioning through their final decision. Beginning with a clear strategic foundation, students are guided through a structured process that ensures each written application component is purposeful, aligned, and reflective of a cohesive narrative.

Our approach is grounded in educational research and informed by what matters most in today’s admissions decisions. While essays are often treated as an afterthought, at EssayU they serve as a central component of a strong, cohesive application.

Families partner with EssayU for research-driven guidance, expert support, and a level of care that reflects the importance of this process.
