Ashley McDonough

Ashley McDonough is a dynamic professional with extensive experience in media and content production. As CEO and Founder of Melanin On The Map since January 2019, Ashley launched a global travel platform that highlights minority travelers and has built a community of over 60,000 members. In concurrent roles at Essence Communications Inc., Ashley serves as a Senior Branded Content Producer and previously held positions as Editor and Writer, producing multimedia content and managing editorial teams. Ashley's background also includes a Senior Digital Producer role at Sinclair Broadcast Group, where strategic content development was a focus, along with contracted experiences in digital news production at Billboard, and journalism roles at Madame Noire and Elite Daily. Ashley holds a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University and additional education from Universidad de Granada.
