Amelia Burns

Amelia Burns is a cell research technician at Essent Biologics. Amelia previously worked as a laboratory technician at AlloSource from October 2017 to January 2020, where they were responsible for the technical aspects of the human vascular graft manufacturing process, including bioreactor set up and maintenance, media feeds, media preparation, tubing manifold assembly, tissue storage, decellularization of vessels using an automated Decelluralization machine, and quality control via continuous monitoring. Amelia is consistently accurate in their record processing data with current Good Tissue Practices and current Good Manufacturing Practices. Amelia also executes weekly blood gas analysis, bioreactor pressure testing, and osmolality measurements. Amelia is also responsible for overseeing weekly inventory orders alongside daily material amounts and disposal. Amelia facilitates communication between purchasing and warehouse departments to ensure uninterrupted vessel manufacturing and develop a more efficient system for managing inventory via electronic requests and spreadsheets.

Amelia Burns studied biochemistry at Fort Lewis College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
