Freek Lijten

Freek Lijten is an experienced IT professional with a strong background in software engineering and management. Currently serving as the Head of Software Engineering and IT Delivery Manager at Essent since August 2021, Freek oversees multiple DevOps teams and is responsible for key areas such as HR, budget, delivery, operational stability, and process improvement. Prior to this role, Freek worked at Royal Schiphol Group from September 2016 to July 2021, where responsibilities included Transition Lead for digital customer experience and Product Owner for Schiphol.nl. Freek began a career at Procurios from September 2007 to August 2016, focusing on back-end development and product ownership, and started in team leadership at Albert Heijn from September 1999 to July 2010. Freek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
