Lonneke Boumans

Lonneke Boumans has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field within the energy industry. Lonneke is currently the Director of Legal, Compliance & Data Protection at Essent since 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Managing Director at E.ON First Future Energy Holding B.V. and E.ON International Participations N.V., starting in 2022. From 2015 to 2022, Lonneke worked at innogy SE as the Manager of Legal & Compliance, where they were responsible for the management of the legal department and promoted cross-border cooperation. Before that, they were a Senior Legal Counsel at RWE from 2010 to 2015. Lonneke started their career at Essent in 2005 as a Senior Officer in Regulatory Affairs, where they provided advisory services on energy regulation and policy at national and European levels.

Lonneke Boumans has a diverse education history. Lonneke attended Universiteit Maastricht from 1998 to 2003, where they studied International and European Tax Law. In 2005, they pursued post-doctoral studies in energy law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Lonneke furthered their education by completing a post-academic program in Competition Law at the University of Nijmegen from 2010 to 2011. In 2008 and 2009, Lonneke Boumans focused on business strategy, earning a Master of Business Administration in Business Strategy from the University of Groningen. Additionally, they attended Grotius Academie in 2012, studying Algemeen Bestuursrecht. Looking to the future, Lonneke Boumans intends to obtain a degree in NRP from Stichting Bedrijfskunde in 2023.
