Christopher LaPointe serves as the President and Vice President of Conservation Operations at Essex County Greenbelt Association since April 2015, where leadership has resulted in the conservation of over 6,200 acres across 200 projects and the development of a Climate Program. As Director of Land Conservation, Christopher has spearheaded the Campaign for 10,000 Acres, collaborating with various partners to enhance conservation efforts. Prior experience includes over 12 years at The Trust for Public Land as Senior Project Manager and Project Manager, where Christopher facilitated the conservation of 2,750 acres valued at $75 million through complex real estate transactions and relationship-building. Earlier roles include positions at Lake Champlain Land Trust, University of Vermont, and internships in Maine and Massachusetts. Christopher holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Boston University and advanced degrees in Natural Resource Planning and Environmental Policy.

Our work helps protect native plants, animals and natural corridors, ensure a healthy food supply, maintain clean water, and create free and accessible places for outdoor recreation and the enjoyment of nature.
