Richard Cohen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Richard is currently a Member and Founder of Swimming River Consulting, LLC, which they established in 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Vice President at Essex Lake Group starting in 2014. Richard also had a long career at Citi, where they held various roles including SVP Fraud & Collections Policy, Retail Partner Cards from 2009 to 2014. Richard retired from Citi in 2014. Additionally, Richard served as an Advisor at Finrise, Inc. from 2016 to 2017.
Before their time at Citi, Richard worked at American Express in different roles. From 2003 to 2009, they were the SVP Risk Policy for the T&B group, managing several portfolios with significant annual charge volume. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Credit Officer for the Corporate Cards division, overseeing a $75 billion portfolio. Richard also worked in Collections Strategy and Management during their tenure at American Express.
Earlier in their career, Richard held positions at Pfizer, where they assisted the Strategic Planning group with analytical support, and at American Electric Power as a System Load Analyst. Richard started their career at American Express in the field of Credit Reporting and Analysis.
Richard Cohen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Rutgers University from 1973 to 1977. Richard then pursued further education and obtained their MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, specializing in Management/Quant, from 1977 to 1979.
