Aynex Mercado has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Aynex most recently worked as a Senior User Experience Designer at Essex Management, LLC, in contract with the National Cancer Institute. In this role, they were responsible for all tasks related to user experience, including discovery, planning, design, and user testing for applications used in time-sensitive precision medicine clinical trials. Aynex also handled coordination and communication between design and development teams. Prior to this, Aynex worked at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) as a Front-end Developer, where they designed and developed various web applications for the National Institutes of Health. Aynex ensured the online accessibility and usability of public access scientific research. Aynex has also worked as a Front-end Developer and Web Designer for the National Association of Social Workers and as a Graphic Designer for Choice Hotels International. Aynex has volunteered as a Social Outreach Chair for AIGA Blue Ridge, maintaining the group's social media profiles. Aynex also has experience as an Independent Web Graphic Designer, specializing in web and graphic design for print. Aynex Mercado attended Academia San Jose from 1992 to 1996, where they received a high school diploma. Following this, they went on to the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1996 to 2001 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management. They further pursued their education at Frederick Community College from 2008 to 2009, specializing in Digital Design, specifically Graphic and Web Design.
