Luis Santana, MPH, PMP, CPI

Luis Santana, MPH, PMP, CPI has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Luis started their career in the US Navy in 2001, where they held various roles including Preventive Medicine Technician, Project Manager, and Preventive Medicine Program Instructor. During their time in the navy, they gained extensive experience in project management and preventive medicine. In 2016, Luis served as Battalion Chief in 1st Battalion 3rd Marines.

In 2019, Luis joined the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences as an Assistant Professor, where they taught and conducted research. Luis also served as a Faculty Senator from 2020 to 2021.

In 2022, Luis transitioned to the civilian sector, joining Zolon Tech Inc. as a Training Specialist and later as a Project Management Fellow. Luis then joined Essex Management, LLC as a Clinical Informatics Project Manager.

Throughout their career, Luis has demonstrated their expertise in project management, preventive medicine, and clinical informatics.

Luis Santana, MPH, PMP, CPI has a strong educational background in public health and healthcare administration. Luis obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Trident University International from 2006 to 2008. Building upon this foundation, they pursued a Masters of Public Health degree with a specialization in Environmental Health from the University of New England, which they completed from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their academic achievements, Luis Santana has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional skills. Luis became a Master Training Specialist at the Navy Medicine Training Support Center in September 2019 and acquired the ServSafe Manager certification from Ft Sam Houston in the same month and year. Moreover, they demonstrated their expertise in project management by obtaining the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute in August 2021. Lastly, Luis Santana received the Certified Postsecondary Instructor designation from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) in August 2020.
