Shanthala Basavappa

Shanthala Basavappa has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 2009, they started working at Leidos as a Program Analyst, where they substantially improved a homegrown tool and generated reports for various levels of management. Shanthala then became a Program Manager, leading a team of 80 members and managing financial analysis, reporting, and contracts for a non-profit subsidiary of Leidos. In 2016, they joined Leidos Biomedical Research as a Technical Project Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Clinical Informatics Program Manager at Essex Management, LLC. In this role, they provide strategic guidance and management of software and informatics systems development for cancer centers and registries. Shanthala'sexpertise in public health data and clinical data contributes to the development of cancer surveillance programs.

Shanthala Basavappa has a strong educational background in the field of biomedical engineering. Shanthala first obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology in Davanagere, India, between the years 1983 and 1988. Shanthala then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Technology (M.Tech.) in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology from 1989 to 1991. In order to enhance their knowledge and expertise in the field, Shanthala also earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University between 1993 and 1995.

In addition to their formal education, Shanthala Basavappa has also acquired several certifications to further develop their skills.
