Angie MacHaria

Angie Macharia currently serves as the General Manager and Head of Wholesale for East Africa at EssilorLuxottica, overseeing the wholesale business's P&L with a team of over 70 individuals and managing exports to Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Previously, Macharia held several leadership roles at Boehringer Ingelheim, including Marketing Head for Sub-Saharan Africa, where responsibilities encompassed the commercialization of key brands across 37 countries and the development of localized brand strategies. Macharia's experience also includes significant roles at Novartis, Prodigy Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Servier, and Cipla, focusing on sales, marketing strategies, and team leadership. Educationally, Macharia holds a BPharm degree from the University of Nairobi, a Project Management for Strategic Advantage certification from Stellenbosch Business School, and has completed programs in problem-solving and decision-making and women in leadership.
