Ian Backes

Ian Backes is a seasoned professional in talent acquisition and organizational development, currently serving as the Regional Director of Employer Attractiveness & Talent Acquisition for North America at Essity since November 2022. Prior to this role, Ian held various significant positions at Sealed Air Corporation, including Talent Acquisition Manager and North American Talent Acquisition Lead, where focus was placed on creating innovative packaging solutions. Experience also includes roles at Electrolux as a Talent & Performance Specialist and Talent Acquisition Partner, where strategic sourcing strategies were developed, and at Aerotek Engineering as an Account Manager. Ian's early career includes positions at Enterprise Rent-A-Car and UPS. Ian holds a Master’s degree in Organization Development from Queens University of Charlotte and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
