Ethical Culture Fieldston School
Carolyn Smith MS, ATC is an experienced athletic trainer and coach with a strong background in sports and fitness. Currently, Carolyn serves as the Middle School Basketball Coach and Head Athletic Trainer at Ethical Culture Fieldston School since August 2015. In addition, Carolyn is a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor with the American Red Cross since April 2019, and has been a Personal Trainer with Lynstructor since March 2012. Previous roles include coaching at Orangetheory Fitness from April 2020 to April 2022, and serving as a Master Trainer at LA Fitness for a brief period. Carolyn began a career in athletic training as a Student Athletic Trainer at various institutions, including Plainfield High School and Seton Hall University, where Carolyn also contributed as Lead Author for a research project on balance across the menstrual cycle. Carolyn holds a Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Temple University.

For over 130 years the Ethical Culture Fieldston School has been committed to excellence in education as it seeks to develop the intellectual, artistic and moral potential of its students. ECFS serves approximately 1,700 students and 325 faculty and staff in four divisions; Ethical Culture, Fieldston Lower, Fieldston Middle, and Fieldston Upper. Ethical Culture is located in midtown Manhattan on Central Park West, in a six-story, turn-of-the-century school building; the other divisions share an 18-acre campus in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
