Ethical Culture Fieldston School
Charlotte Selous has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Charlotte currently serves as the Ethics & Technology Lead at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School since August 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Substitute Teacher at Trinity School from November 2019 to March 2020. In 2018, they were a Research Fellow at Columbia University's SAFE Lab, focusing on studying violence in digital spaces. From September 2017 to July 2018, they worked as a Social Work Intern at Mobilization for Justice, providing legal and advocacy services to indigent clients. In 2016, Charlotte worked as a Research Assistant at Douglas Hospital Research Center and as a Drop-In And Line (DIAL) Branch Representative at the Sexual Assault Center of the McGill Students' Society. Charlotte also interned at Trinity Place Shelter and served as a Project Coordinator at the Sexual Assault Center of the McGill Students' Society.
Charlotte Selous earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government, with minors in Philosophy and Hispanic Studies, from McGill University, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Charlotte then pursued a Master of Science in Social Work (MSW) degree with a specialization in Advanced Generalist Practice & Programming and a field of study in Contemporary Social Issues from Columbia University - Columbia School of Social Work from 2017 to 2019. Prior to their university education, they completed their high school studies at Lycée Français de New York, where they obtained a Baccalauréat Scientifique Option Internationale (US) from 2004 to 2014. Furthermore, Charlotte Selous has also obtained additional certifications, including Group Facilitation from the Centre for Community Organizations (COCo) and Naloxone from VOCAL-NY.
Ethical Culture Fieldston School
For over 130 years the Ethical Culture Fieldston School has been committed to excellence in education as it seeks to develop the intellectual, artistic and moral potential of its students. ECFS serves approximately 1,700 students and 325 faculty and staff in four divisions; Ethical Culture, Fieldston Lower, Fieldston Middle, and Fieldston Upper. Ethical Culture is located in midtown Manhattan on Central Park West, in a six-story, turn-of-the-century school building; the other divisions share an 18-acre campus in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
