Neima Aman Shifa is currently the Coordinator of Transitional Justice at the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission since July 2023. Previously, Neima served as a Lecturer of Law at Jimma University from November 2019 to August 2023 and worked as an External Consultant/Researcher for the Federal Justice, Legal Research and Training Institute from January 2020 to June 2021, focusing on customary laws and dispute resolution in Ethiopia. Neima holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Transitional Justice, Human Rights and the Rule of Law from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (2020-2021), a Master's degree in International Economic Law, Justice, and Development from Birkbeck, University of London (2021-2022), and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Human Rights and Criminal Law from Jimma University (2018-2019). Additionally, Neima completed a short course in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies at Masaryk University Brno in 2019 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Law from Jimma University (2012-2017).

Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is an independent federal state body established as per the Federal Constitution and reporting to the House of People’s Representatives as a national human rights institution with the mandate for the promotion and protection of human rights. (Article 55/14 of FDRE Constitution cum Proclamation No. 210/2000, as amended by Proclamation No. 1224/2020)
