Amberjae Freeman

Amberjae Freeman has a diverse work experience with various companies and roles. Amberjae currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Etho Capital since April 2020. Previously, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Etho Capital from July 2019 to April 2020. Prior to their role at Etho Capital, Freeman worked at Swell Investing LLC from February 2017 to August 2019. Amberjae first started as an Impact Investment Analyst, responsible for enhancing the quality of Swell's thematic portfolios and providing thought leadership and training on ESG and Impact investing. Later, they became a Portfolio Manager, where they built and maintained investment portfolios and conducted ESG and Impact research.

Before their time at Swell Investing LLC, Freeman worked as an Investment Consultant at Private Client Research from January 2016 to February 2017. In this role, they evaluated investment portfolios and developed sustainable investment strategies for institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals. Amberjae also provided research and strategic investment recommendations on global food policy.

From August 2010 to September 2015, Freeman worked as a Senior Analyst in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) at RBC Wealth Management. Additionally, they served as a Program Manager at the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies from January 2009 to August 2010. Prior to that, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Political Science & Economics, Santa Barbara City College, in June 2008.

Freeman's earlier experiences include roles as a Research Fellow in Impact Investing at Clinton Hunter Development Initiative from September 2007 to January 2008, and as a Research Fellow in Private Equity, Renewable Energy, and Impact at the Clinton Global Initiative from June 2007 to September 2007.

Amberjae began their career at UC Santa Barbara in August 2004, where they served as an Associate Resident Director. In this role, they were responsible for hiring, training, and managing a large team of staff and overseeing the welfare of over a thousand students.

Amberjae Freeman earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Global & International Studies from UC Santa Barbara from 2000 to 2004. Amberjae then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Global & International Studies from the same institution from 2006 to 2008. In 2003, they spent a year studying Spanish Language and Literature at Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo.
