GO is the key Brand of Go Telecom Company, leading Telecommunications Operator in the Middle East. With more than 200 thousand customers, GO covers voice services and broadband internet services in 12 cities in Saudi Arabia. Partnering with Batelco, a key regional Telecom Operator and major shareholder, has added to Atheeb’s strength in terms of seconded resource and industry knowledge. On 5 April 2009, GO received a license officially from the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) after completing all the license issuance requirements. GO Telecom also acquired 2 x 28 MHz of spectrum in the 3.5GHz frequency band across 13 regional divisions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, valued at 520 million Saudi Riyals in addition to a license for advanced fixed telephone lines amounting up to 5 million Saudi Riyals. The company is the second fixed telecommunication licensed operator (Nomadic) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Under the scope of its license, valid for a period of 25 years, the company is allowed to establish and operate a facilities-based public fixed telecommunications network including international gateways and to provide fixed line communication services at the local, national and international levels. Such services include, but are not limited to, the following: Fixed line voice communication services (Nomadic, VoIP) Fixed broadband data communication services Other relevant services, including: audio, text, VAS, visual and more. The license requires compliance with specific roll-out and coverage obligations, including coverage in seven provinces of the KSA within 5 years of the issuance of the license.
