Jeff is a member of the ETS microbiology team in St. Helena, CA. He was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA and completed an A.A. and A.S. degree at the Santa Rosa Junior College. Jeff continued his schooling at the University of California at Davis and graduated with a B.S. degree in Plant Biology. While completing his degree at Davis, he interned in the Viticulture and Enology department as well as at an agricultural biotech company where he worked on plant tissue culture and molecular biology projects. Jeff has also completed the winemaking certificate program through U.C. Davis. After graduation, Jeff went on to work for a large family winery doing research in the areas of grapevine genetics, fermentation and microbiology. Jeff left the winery as a Senior Enologist to join ETS’s microbiology department in 2006. He has been involved in research and development for the Traditional and Molecular Microbiology programs, including Scorpion and ELISA assays, at ETS. including method development, process improvements and troubleshooting.
