Patrick Callier

Patrick Callier is a Senior Applied Scientist at Etsy, with prior experience as a Data Scientist at Square and In-Q-Tel. Throughout a diverse career, Patrick has focused on prototyping deep learning and machine learning techniques in natural language processing and computer vision. Notable projects include leading efforts in document similarity and novelty detection, developing convolutional neural networks for handwriting analysis, and implementing deep learning models for sentiment analysis. Patrick also contributed as a Fellow at Insight Data Science, where a system for predicting user inactivity on Twitter was developed. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University, Patrick explored the quantitative relationships between speech and body language. Patrick holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Linguistics from Stanford University.
