Syd Hashemi, Ph.D, has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2005, they worked at IPCO as a CAE Coordinator and Project Engineer, where they were responsible for simulating and participating in the design of the gas exchange and cooling system of an engine. Syd also acted as a CAE coordinator and directly oversaw gas exchange simulation, cooling system, exhaust and intake simulation, and combustion simulation for the EFD engine.
In 2012, they joined UC Berkeley as a Graduate Student Researcher, where they contributed to research projects until 2016. Following this, they worked at Lam Research as a Product Engineer from November 2016 to January 2020.
In 2020, Syd became the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Linquip, where they played a pivotal role in the company's establishment and strategic direction. Syd held this position until June 2022.
Currently, Syd works at Eugenus, Inc. as an Engineering Manager, a position they started in June 2022.
Syd Hashemi, Ph.D, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computation, Fluid, Math from the University of California, Berkeley from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2012 to 2013. Furthermore, Syd holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, which they acquired from Sharif University of Technology between 2002 and 2005.
