Erdem Erdi started their work experience in November 1998 as a Weather Forecaster at the Turkish State Meteorological Service. They were responsible for preparing METAR and TAF observations and weather forecasts for Military and Civil Aviation, as well as performing synoptic and climatology observations. From August 2000 to August 2004, Erdem continued in the same role, where they also conducted synoptic and climatology observations. In August 2004, Erdem transitioned to the role of an Engineer in the Remote Sensing Division of the Weather Forecasting Department. In this role, Erdem worked on satellite meteorology, focusing on nowcasting, climate, energy, environment, and hydrology. They had strong knowledge and experience with meteorological and environmental earth observation space programs, satellites, instruments, and products. Erdem's work at the Turkish State Meteorological Service ended in October 2020. From October 2020 to February 2022, Erdem worked as an Internal Auditor at Çankırı Karatekin University. Currently, Erdem is employed as a Data Services User Support Officer at EUMETSAT, starting in August 2021.
Erdem Erdi's education history begins with their enrollment at the Anatolian High School of Meteorology from 1994 to 1998. After completing high school, they attended Dicle University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mining Engineering. Erdem then pursued further education at Cukurova University, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, from 2012 to 2015, receiving a Master's Degree in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems. Erdem is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Geodetic and Geographic Information Technologies at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Middle East Technical University) since 2015, although the degree has not been completed as of 2017.
