Francesco Murdaca

Junior Cloud Application Developer at EUMETSAT

Francesco Murdaca has a diverse work experience in various scientific and technical roles. In 2016, they started as an intern at Deimos Space, where they gained practical experience in a professional setting. In 2018, Francesco worked as an intern at ESA/ESTEC, further expanding their knowledge in the field. During this time, they also pursued a PhD at the University of Strathclyde, where they focused on developing a Design Engineering Assistant (DEA) using advanced technologies such as Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Ontology Learning, Knowledge Management, and Knowledge Discovery. This project involved collaboration with ESA, space companies, and other PhD students. After completing their PhD, Francesco joined Red Hat as a Senior Data Scientist and Senior Software Engineer in 2020. Francesco held this position until 2022, gaining expertise in data science and software engineering. Currently, they work at EUMETSAT as a Junior Cloud Application Developer, supporting the development and usage of cloud-based services in the field of meteorology and related disciplines.

Francesco Murdaca's education history begins in 2005 when they attended Liceo Classico "Ivo Oliveti" for high school, where their field of study focused on Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics.

In 2008 and 2009, Francesco participated in summer courses at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Wolverhampton, respectively. However, the field of study for these summer courses is not specified.

Francesco then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from 2010 to 2014 at Politecnico di Milano.

Continuing their education, Francesco obtained a Master's Degree in Space Engineering from Politecnico di Milano between 2014 and 2017.
